Medical criteria first

The right setting for each procedure.

Dr Riba’s work is focused on oral and maxillofacial surgery, advanced implantology, facial skeletal surgery and complex facial procedures.

Not all procedures require the same surgical environment. Some selected interventions can be performed in an outpatient clinical setting, while more complex operations require a hospital environment with the appropriate anaesthetic and postoperative resources.

The decision is based on safety, surgical precision, the patient’s medical background and the expected recovery process.

No. Some selected minor outpatient procedures may be performed at Face Clinic Madrid, but more complex interventions require a hospital setting. The indication depends on the type of surgery, anaesthesia, medical history and expected postoperative needs.

Where is the minor outpatient surgery room located?

It is located at Face Clinic Madrid — Barrio de Salamanca, Calle de Diego de León, 39. It is used only for selected cases that are clinically suitable for outpatient management.

Can surgery be performed under sedation?

When clinically indicated, some procedures may be performed under local anaesthesia with monitored sedation and appropriate anaesthetic supervision. This decision is made after individual medical assessment.

When is hospital surgery recommended?

Hospital surgery is usually recommended for more complex interventions, multiple custom facial implants, combined facial procedures or cases requiring general anaesthesia and closer postoperative monitoring.
